Donald Burkart

Donald A. Burkart, 83, of Sheboygan Falls, died on Friday morning, August 7, 2009, at the Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. Donald was born on April 30, 1926, Sheboygan, son of the late Leo and Erna (Alberts) Burkart. He attended Sheboygan Central High School. Following high school he served in the US Army from 1944-46. On December 17, 1956 he married Josiane Hubert in Dubuque, IA. Josiane preceded him in death on December 5, 2002. Donald was employed with Bemis Manufacturing for 40 years until the time of his retirement in 1998. Survivors include his daughter, Vivianne (Stephen) Whitcomb of Erin Township, WI, and one sister, Beverly (John) Nottling of New Hostein. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Josiane, his parents, and his parent-in-laws. Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was a loyal Green Bay Packer fan. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 2:00 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Donald Hasse officiating. Burial will follow at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 until the time of the service at 2:00. A memorial fund has been established in his name for the Pine Haven Christian Home.
