Dena C. Claussen De Blaey, 91, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. Dena was born on January 5, 1921 in Town of Wilson, daughter of Elmer and Minnie (Ver Velde) Ten Pas. She attended Cedar Grove Area Schools. On March 5, 1937 she married Arthur Claussen at the home of Rev. DeWard in the Town of Holland. Arthur passed away on March 16, 1976. On May 30, 1981 she married Donald De Blaey at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. Donald passed away on March 10, 2010. Dena was a member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and reading. Dena's life revolved around taking care of her family. She also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. Dena is survived by two daughters, Caroline Staaben of Sheboygan and Mary Ann (Darrell) Anderson of Plymouth; two sons, Erwin (Shirley) Claussen and David Claussen, both of Cedar Grove; one daughter-in-law, Diane Claussen of Sheboygan Falls; nine grandchildren, Brian (friend Elaine) Staaben, Connie (Mike) Green, Steve (Crystal) Staaben, Dawn Claussen, Lisa Claussen, Tanya (Jeff) Garside, Troy (friend Jennifer) Claussen, Wendy (friend Nate) Claussen, Stephanie Harrison; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Jean (Glenn) Bruggink of Oostburg, Mary Gosse of Cedar Grove, Christine Lindow and Jack Lindow of Sheboygan, Nancy (Robert) Braaten of Reedsville, OR, Jim (Linda) De Blaey of Hingham and Mark De Blaey of Sheboygan; one step-daughter-in-law, Donna (Jim) Davis of Oostburg; 13 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Ray De Blaey of Oostburg, Allen (Evelyn) De Blaey of Random Lake; nieces, nephews, and friends. Dena was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Arthur; her second husband, Donald; her infant daughter, Jane Claussen; two sons, James Claussen and Robert Claussen; one grandson and one great-grandson; son-in-law, Michael Staaben; one step-son, Donald W. De Blaey Jr.; one step-son-in-law, Don Gosse; one sister-in-law, Marion De Blaey. Funeral services to celebrate Dena's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Private interment will take place in Hartman Cemetery in the Town of Wilson. Relatives and friends of Dena may call at the church on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 3:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Dena's name.
