Delores Bruce

Delores M. Bruce, 86, of Cedar Grove died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. Delores was born on May 14, 1928 in the town of Holland to Lester and Ruby (Simmelink) Lukens. She was a 1946 graduate of Cedar Grove High School and attended the Milwaukee Accredited School of Cosmetology. On April 2, 1948 she married Mark Bruce in Baraboo, WI. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1982. Delores was a member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. She was a member of the Ladies Legion Auxillary. Delores volunteered her time at Campus Life and Good as New in Cedar Grove. She enjoyed traveling, dining out with friends, reading , listening to music and her dog, Precious. Delores is survived by one sister, Muriel De Smith; two brothers, LaMont (Mary Jane) Lukens and Larry (Jean) Lukens; her nieces and nephews, Jeff DeSmith, Brian (Debbie) Lukens, Bruce (Barb) Lukens, Brent (Deb) Lukens, Barbara Lukens, Shanon (Missy) Lukens, Trevor (Jackie) Lukens, Ben (Jaclyn) Lukens; she is further survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 34 years, Mark; her son, James; two nephews, Dean Richard DeSmith and Bradley Lukens and her dog, Precious. A funeral service to celebrate Delores's life will be on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove at 2pm with Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the church from 12pm until the time of service at 2pm. A memorial fund to First Reformed Church in Delores's memory is being established.
