Delores Evelyn Blok Delores E. Blok, 71, of 201 South 7th Street, Oostburg, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early on Saturday morning, October 25, 2008 at the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Delores was born on March 1, 1937 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Clara (Huibregtse) Tenpas and the late Bernard Tenpas and. She graduated from Washington Grade School and was a 1955 graduate of Sheboygan North High School. She received her LPN degree from Kenosha Technical College in 1956. Delores married Carl M. Blok on May 2, 1959 at the Hope Reformed Church in Sheboygan. Following their marriage they made their home in Oostburg since 1959. Her husband, Carl was the Oostburg Ford Dealer for over 40 years. Delores worked as an LPN for over 40 years, the last 15 years at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home before her retirement in 1996. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg, the Eunice and Martha Societies, and the Senior Choir. She was also a member of the Oostburg Christian School Circle. Delores enjoyed reading, music, the outdoors, bird and nature watching, camping, folk art painting, and taking car trips with her husband. She was a faithful letter writer and enjoyed sending cards. She cherished the time she spent doing family activities. Delores is survived by her husband of 49 years, Carl; one daughter, Lois (James) Hodgell of Stevensville, Mich; two sons, Robert (Dawn) Blok and James (Julie) Blok, both of Oostburg; her mother, Clara Tenpas of Sunny Ridge Nursing Home; eight grandchildren, Dale (Karla), Peter and Brenda Hodgell, Alex and Jordan Blok, Courtney, Trevor and Abby Blok; one great granddaughter, Ella Grace Hodgell; two sisters, Diane (James) Vivian of Arizona, and Marjorie (David) Symens of Minnesota; two brothers-in-law, Ernest (Dorothy) Blok of Oostburg, and Glen (Judy) Blok of Menomonee Falls; four sisters-in-law, Margaret (Jack) Ogez of Tennessee, Ruth Schroeder of Sheboygan, Ellen McNeese of Oostburg, and Phyllis (Carl) Nyhof of Oostburg. Delores was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Tenpas. Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg at 10:30 am, on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 with the Rev. Dr. Leslie Kuiper officiating. A family service will precede in the fellowship hall at 10:15 am. Burial will follow at Hartman Cemetery in the Town of Wilson. Friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday from 4-8 pm, and on Wednesday, at church from 9:30 am until the time of services.
