Delores Theune

October 21, 1926 — April 28, 2014

Delores (Lorrie) Theune, 87, of Plymouth and formerly of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Libby's House in Plymouth. She has gone on to be reunited with her husband Howard, whom she truly missed for many years along with the rest of her family, father, Henry Kelling, mother, Adaila Kelling, brothers, Edward (Connie) Kelling, Melvin (Olive) Kelling, and Roland (Hilda) Kelling. Delores was born on October 21, 1926, she and her family resided in the Dundee area where she attended school and where her father operated the Dundee Mill. In later years, they moved to Sheboygan Falls, where her father operated the Kohler Farms. There she met the love of her life, Howard Theune. The two were married on November 22, 1947, and made their home in Sheboygan Falls. Throughout the years she worked at the Sheboygan Falls Creamery, Bemis Manufacturing, and Hardware Hank. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Dennis (Bonnie) Theune of Crandon and Donna (Mike) Jensen of Plymouth. In later years, Delores was very proud to be called Grandma by Jason Theune of Crandon and Brian (Christina) Theune of Sheboygan. A recent addition, her great-grandson, Miles Howard Theune, who always brought a huge smile to her face, along with her nephew, Dick and Bev Kelling and their family, who she always thought of as her own. Delores was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was active as a leader for Campfire Girls. Delores enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, canning, card playing, fishing, travel, and always had time to sit and read a good book. Her family will always have cherished memories of her being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, full of love for her family and pets. In addition to her immediate family she also leaves behind five sisters-in-law, Lucille Karsteadt of Plymouth, Norma (Bill) Vetch of California, Jean Hoftiezer of Hingham, Eileen (Wayne) Casteel of Glenbuelah, and Carol (Andy) Molkenthine of Plymouth; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Theune of Sheboygan Falls and Lyle (Kay) Theune of Plymouth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Delores was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Dolores Theune, and four brothers-in-law, Donald (Elsie) Theune, Joseph Fleck, Melvin Karstaedt, and Herbert Hoftiezer. A funeral service to celebrate Delores' life will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Tom Gudmundson officiating. Burial will be at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at church from 10:00 am until the time of the service at noon. One last time we whisper in your ear, "We love you more." A memorial fund has been established in Delores name. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Libby's House and Serenity Hospice for the loving care, concern, and friendship given to our mom while she was a part of their family.
