David Orville Specht, 74, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
Dave was born on May 5, 1950, to Orville and Kathleen (Mauer) Specht in Sheboygan. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1968. Dave was united in marriage to Margaret Hahn on April 22, 1995.
Dave served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1969 to 1978, during which he served as mortar platoon leader in the Co. C1/127th Infantry. He was involved in the American Legion Post 149 for over 50 years and the Sheboygan Falls Fire Department, where he served 20 years. Dave was on the Sheboygan Falls city council from 1993-1994 and was mayor of Sheboygan Falls for 10 years. From 2005-2018, he served as municipal court judge in Sheboygan Falls. He was a longtime member and current president of the Sheboygan Falls Conservation Club. Dave enjoyed golfing, trap shooting, and bowling.
Forever a car guy, he owned car businesses over the years. For the last nearly 30 years, he owned and operated Dave Specht Motor Company in Sheboygan Falls.
Dave is survived by his wife, Margaret “Maggie”; children, Scott (Loreen) Hahn, Kelly (Craig) Jacobson; grandchildren, Ann Marie Jacobson and Hunter Hahn; sister, Sandy Pecherek; nephews, Michael (Donna) and Craig (Lisanne) and their children, James and Edmund. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law, Richard (Barb) Allmann, Dean (Nancy) Allmann; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Bob Pecherek; nephew, Robert Pecherek; and sister-in-law, Elaine Allmann
A memorial mass to celebrate Dave’s life at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 10:00am.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at church on Wednesday, September 4, from 4:00-6:00pm and again at church on Thursday from 9:00am until mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Dave’s name to the Sheboygan Falls Legion, Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, or Sheboygan Falls Conservation Club.
