Daniel C. Boone, 86, of N2050 Wittwood Rd., Oostburg, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Meadow View Manor Nursing Home. He was born May 12, 1921 in Keokuck, Iowa, the son of the late Homer and Estella (Ashley) Boone. Daniel was a 1940 graduate of Keokuck High School and served in the US Coast Guard in WWII from 1940-46. On May 29, 1971 he married Marjorie Feld. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1976. On February 17, 1977 he married Judy Voltz Wilterdink in Gibbsville. Daniel worked at Kohler Company and was a truck driver for Wisconsin Power and Light in Sheboygan for 28 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of Gibbsville Reformed Church and theVFW Post #9156 in Sheboygan. Daniel enjoyed hunting and bowling. Survivors include his wife, Judy of Oostburg; one son, Daniel (Vivian) Boone of California; three granddaughters; one grandson; two great grandsons; one step daughter, Nancy (Frank) Johnson of Oostburg; one stepson, Steve (Linda) Wilterdink of Sheboygan Falls; six step grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Banghart of Colombia, MO; two brothers, Homer Boone of Concord, NC, and John (Mabel) Boone of Keokuck, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; and a stepson, John Wilterdink and a sister-in-law, Rosalie Boone. Funeral services for Daniel will take place on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Gibbsville Reformed Church, with the Rev. Gerald A. Dykstra, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park with full military honors. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the family service at 10:45 a.m..
