Danette I. Shorter passed away Monday morning, July 4, 2022 at her home in Sheboygan Falls surrounded by her loving family, including her beloved puppies Bella, Sadie and Marley. She was 62 years old.
Danette was born July 21, 1959 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Shirley (Phillips) Shorter. In 2005, she married her best friend and true love, Kent Hell, in Sheboygan.
A caregiver at heart, Danette proudly worked as a CNA in Plymouth and cared for not only her own children but also her family and friends.
She was a member of Sheboygan Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she was baptized March 19, 2022. She loved baking, fishing, reading, animals and above all, spending time with her family. She was not only a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, but an all-around wonderful, beautiful person.
Danette is survived by her husband Kent Hell; daughters Jillian (Jamie) Burnett of Wheatland, MO and Paula (Eric) Mashburn of Beachbluff, TN; grandchildren: Kayla, Dakota, Jenny, Kira, Faith, James, Jennifer, Jase and Nathan; great-grandchildren Cora and Dimitre; siblings: Edward (Kathy) Shorter of Bethel Springs, TN, William (Phyllis) Shorter of Everettsville, WV, Donna (Mark) Spenader of Pontiac, IL, Lisa Wilke of Sheboygan Falls, Tammy (Jim) Womack of Bee Branch, AR, Tracy (Luke) Ferrara of Glendale, AZ; sister-in-law Kay Shorter of Mendota, IL; half siblings: Kenneth (Missy) Shorter of Henderson, MS, Melissa Carey of Henderson, MS and Danita Wimberly of MS; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son Jeremy Peterlin, parents Kenneth and Shirley, brother Richard Shorter, sister Shirley Chavera and nephews Douglas Wagner and Rodney Chavera.
A Celebration of Danette’s Life will begin promptly at 1:00PM on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Wenig Funeral Home, 711 Broadway in Sheboygan Falls with Jim Womack officiating. All are welcome to view a livestream of the service on Danette’s obituary page at www.wenigfh.com . Guests are welcome to arrive from 12:30PM-1:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in her name.
