Dale D. Arndt, 70, of Oostburg died on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Dale was born on July 1, 1945 in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth (Pelot) Arndt. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1963. Dale served in the US Army spending two tours of duty in Vietnam. On July 2, 1966 he married Laverna Dennis in Newfoundland, Canada. Dale worked for the Kohler Co. for 36 years before his retirement in 2007. Dale was a member of the American Legion Hingham Post, AmVets, and various dartball, bowling and golf leagues. He enjoyed golf, bowling, dartball, fishing, traveling, winters in Arizona, and outdoor grilling meals for his family. He was a good story teller, was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan and enjoyed his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Laverna of Oostburg; two daughters, Madonna (Lon) Schneider of Cascade, Rhonda (Rick) Eggebeen of Oostburg; one son, Scott (Kim) Arndt of Hingham; eleven grandchildren, Dylan (fiancé Val) McGaw, Carmen (Rob) Puckett, Ashlie (fiancé Kellen) McGaw, Michelle (Josh) Meyer, Ross Eggebeen, Ashley (James) Rambousek, Joshua (Aimee) Frier, Carly (friend Alex) Eggebeen, Kaden, Reese and Logan Arndt; four great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Lou Millet of Arizona; a brother-in-law, John Raab of Milladore; and a best friend, Bernie Baldwin of Batavia. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Yvonne Raab, and a niece, Wanda Weiler. A funeral to celebrate his life will take place at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10:30 am with Rev. Drew Zylstra officiating. Military honors will follow. Entombment will take place at the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum in the Town of Sheboygan. Family and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday from 4-7 pm, and on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am.
