Curtis Schroeder

Curtis A. Schroeder, 83, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Woodland Manor. Curtis was born on January 23, 1931, in Sheboygan, son of Rueben and Jessie (Verhulst) Schroeder. He attended area schools and a school for the deaf in Green Bay. On June 11, 1966, he married Suzanne Schmitt at St. Peter Claver Parish in Sheboygan. Curtis was employed at Kohler Co. for 42 years until his retirement in 1993. Curtis was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. He was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. Curtis enjoyed watching football and baseball, attending parades, big band music, and movies. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered as being very patriotic. Curtis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Suzanne; one daughter, Lisa (John) Peplinski of Milwaukee; two sons, Patrick (Wendy) Schroeder of Sheboygan Falls and Jeffrey Schroeder of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Robert Schroeder of Milwaukee, Brittany Schroeder of Sheboygan Falls, Kayla Schroeder of Milwaukee, and Kiaya Schroeder of Sheboygan Falls; two brothers-in-law, Peter (Barbara) Schmitt of Sheboygan and Donald (Irene) Schmitt of Sheboygan. Curtis is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Mason and Jordyn Schroeder, and two brothers, Gilbert Schroeder and Donald (Faye) Schroeder. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Curtis' life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 until the time of Mass at 10:00 am. A memorial fund has been established in Curtis' name. Curtis' family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Woodland Manor and St. Nicholas Hospice for their compassionate care.
