Cordella G. Miller, 95, of Kohler, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Morningside Health Center in Sheboygan. Cordella was born on January 16, 1920, in Kohler, daughter of Otto and Orlinda (Thieme) Schuman. She was a 1938 graduate of Kohler High School and attended Sheboygan County Normal School. On June 6, 1942, she married Merrill Wright Miller in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1982. Cordella was a Sheboygan County school teacher, teaching at two different one room schoolhouses, Weeden Station and South Cedar Grove School. Later she was a safety patrol officer for the Village of Kohler. Cordella was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler, where she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary, Quilters Club, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of the Kohler Senior Citizens, and volunteered as a Cub Scout leader. Cordella is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Dennis) Prepster of Sheboygan; step daughter, Mary Lee (Nancy Rice) Miller of Rochester, NY; her son, Merrill "Butch"(Gloria) Miller of Kohler; five grandchildren, Melissa Prepster, Angela (David) Malanick, Jennifer (Dave) Maresch, Victoria Miller and Jeremy (Mary) Miller; and four great-grandchildren, Moriah (David) Piedot, Zoya Miller, Troy Pruitt, and Alexander Miller. Cordella was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, and her parents. A funeral service to celebrate Cordella's life will be held at 10 am on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler with Rev. Robert Steele officiating. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established in Cordella's name for Bethany Lutheran Church.
