Clinton Grossheim

Clinton O. Grossheim, 78, of N2884 East County Hwy A, Oostburg died on Friday night, July 15, 2011 at St. Luke Medical Center in Milwaukee. Clinton was born on March 8, 1933 in Plymouth, the son of the late Richard and Alzita (Laack) Grossheim. He attended Plymouth High School and served in the US Navy from 1951-54. He married Lois Debbink on October 11, 1952 at Gibbsville Reformed Church. Clinton was a union carpenter having worked for Jos. A. Schmitt & Sons, and Quasius Construction for many years prior to his retirement in 1995. Clinton was a member of the Gibbsville Reformed Church where he served as a deacon and usher. He was also a member of the Carpenter Union Local 731 and the American Legion Hartman-Lammers Post 286. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards with his friends, and watching the Green Bay Packers. Clint enjoyed driving and traveled to all 48 mainland states, enjoying nature's wonders and stopping at many points of interest. There were many special times at the cottage at Lake Ellen with his 15 fun loving grandchildren. Clinton is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois; three daughters, Bonnie (John) Guehna of Sheboygan, Mary (Brent) Wykhuis of Oostburg, and Ruth (Jeffrey) Saueressig of New Berlin; two sons, David (Teresa) Grossheim of Oostburg and Gary (Patrice) Grossheim of Sheboygan; 15 grandchildren, Lynn, Andrew, Julie, Jodi and Kelly Grossheim, Eric and Adam Guehna, Michael, Steven, and Daniel Grossheim, Matthew (Krystal) and Aaron Wykhuis, Brandon, Nathan, and Rachael Saueressig; and one brother-in-law, Carl Nyenhuis. Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, an infant grandson, Brian J. Guehna; three sisters, Lorraine Grossheim, Carol (Roland) Marquardt, Doris (Chester) DeRuyter; and two brothers, Harvey and Wilbur (Joann) Grossheim. Funeral services to celebrate Clinton's life will be held at the Gibbsville Reformed Church on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 6:30 pm with the Rev. John Ornee officiating. A family service will precede in the choir room at 6:15 pm. Private burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson. Friends may call at the Gibbsville Reformed Church on Wednesday from 3 pm until the time of the service at 6:30 pm.
