Claris Gartman

Claris Jean Gartman, 90, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017, at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls.Claris was born on August 2, 1927 to Otto and Nellie (DeTroye) Reichert. She was a 1947 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On April 21, 1949 Claris married Eugene Gartman at Trinity Lutheran Church in the town of Wilson. Claris was a dedicated wife and mother.Claris was a member of St. Paul UCC in Sheboygan. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club. Claris enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and needle work. Claris is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Jim) Miller of Oostburg; one son, Neil (Wendy) Gartman of Oostburg; four grandchildren, Craig (Ann) Miller, Kevin (Stacey) Miller, Amy (John) Wildman, and Mindy Dulmes; 10 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Claris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Gartman; four brothers, Leonard Reichert, Robert (Marie) Reichert, Aubrey (Margaret) Reichert, and Rueben (Esther) Reichert; two sisters, Beulah (Elmer) Wiladsen, and Carol (Charlie) Lorenz; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Freida Gartman; A memorial service to celebrate Claris's life will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017, at 12:00 pm at Wenig Funeral Homes in Oostburg. An inurnment will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family at Wenig Funeral Homes in Oostburg on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm.
