Clarence Marcheske

Clarence A. Marcheske, 91, of 3629 Bonnie Court, Sheboygan died at his home while surrounded by his family on Sunday morning, May 29, 2011. Clarence was born on September 22, 1919, in Oconto, the son of Carl and Anna (Krause) Marcheske. Clarence served in the US Army during World War II from 1942-45. He was stationed primarily in England and returned home on the Queen Mary. On June 29, 1957, he married Arnice Athorp in Kohler. Clarence worked in the brass plating division at the Kohler Co. for 43 years prior to his retirement in 1981. Clarence was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and the Kohler Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing sheepshead. Clarence will be forever remembered for his enduring strength, his tenacious work ethic, and his willingness to assist others. Clarence was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took pride in his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Arnice; two daughters, which he affectionately referred to as his "girls", Marietta (Paul) Klauck of Sheboygan Falls, and Marcy Marcheske of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Christina (Randall) Klauck-Langer of Oak Creek and Drew Hoblitzell of Sheboygan; two great grandchildren Holly and Nicholas Langer; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Vogel of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by parents, ten siblings, his parents-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and several nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Alan Kretschmar officiating. Burial and Military Honors will take place at the Woodland Cemetery in Kohler. Friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the service. Richardson Community Hospice for their loving and compassionate care during Clarence's final days.
