Charles W. Roska, 88, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012, at his home. Charles was born on May 28, 1924, in Sheboygan, son of Herbert and Edna (Bauernfiend) Roska. He was a 1942 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. Charles served in the US Navy from 1942-1946 in WW II, and from 1952-1956 in Korea. On November 3, 1947, he married Constance L. LeTourneau in Hayward, Wisconsin. Constance preceded him death on December 1, 2005. He was co-owner of Ronson's Hardware Store in Sheboygan Falls with brother, John, and Roland Anderson for six years in the late 50's and early 60's. Charles was employed as an electrical technician with Sheboygan Falls Utilities for 27 years until his retirement in 1988. Charles was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, where he served as a food pantry volunteer. He was a member of American Legion Post #149, a fund raiser and volunteer for Camp American Legion in Minocqua, and an active member and coordinator of annual meetings for AROU (Aviation Repair Operation Unit). Charles was a Sharon S. Richardson Hospice volunteer, past member of the Lions Club, and Katrina restoration volunteer. Charles enjoyed traveling, fishing, woodworking, bowling, gardening, card playing, and jigsaw and crossword puzzles. He was an outdoor sportsman and handyman, and loved life. Charles will always be remembered as "good time Charlie". Charles is survived by two daughters, Carla (Bruce) VanEss of Sheboygan Falls and Claudia (James Johnson) Roska of Neosho; three grandchildren, Christa (Daniel) Knaus and Philip (Melissa) VanEss, and Tony Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Doris Roska; brother-in-law, Paul Reggorah of Cable; and special nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Constance; his parents; his sister, Edna Mae Fuerst; and his brother, John Roska. Funeral services to celebrate Charles' life will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 6:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Tom Gudmundson officiating. Military honors will follow. Private inurnment will be in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday at 3:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Charles' name for the American Legion.
