Charles Norgaard

Charles "Chuck" D. Norgaard, 80, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Chuck was born on January 31, 1934, in Irene, SD, son of Lars and Nora (Jensen) Norgaard. He was a 1952 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On November 22, 1958, he married Zelia M. Durst at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Chuck was co-owner of Lakeshore Press in Sheboygan for 40 years until his retirement in 1998. Chuck was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, where he served as an usher and chairman of the church council. He was a member of the Sheboygan Elks, and Quit Qui Oc golf club. He was a former member of Pine Hills Country Club where he shot his hole-in-one and was named Player of the Year in 1994. Chuck enjoyed golf, fishing, card playing, and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and UW Badgers. Chuck is survived by his wife of 56 years, Zelia; his daughter, Sarah Norgaard of Denver, CO; his son, Mark Norgaard of Sheboygan; one grandson, Tyler Norgaard of Sheboygan; one great-granddaughter, Paiten Norgaard; his sister, Darlene Geidel of Holiday, FL; and his brother-in-law, Vernon (Sharon) Durst of St. Charles, MO. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Verlin and Lavern Norgaard, and one brother-in-law, Robert Geidel. A memorial service to celebrate Chuck's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan with Rev. Alan Kretschmar officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Chuck's name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and St. Paul Lutheran Church.
