Catherine Geiger

Catherine "Kaye" Geiger, 94, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Sunday night, November 28, 2010 at the Cedar Grove Gardens where she had resided for the past two years. Kaye was born on May 26, 1916, in the Town of Holland, daughter of Isaac and Fannie (DeRoos) Claerbout. She was a 1936 graduate of Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove. On July 11, 1953 she married Jacob Geiger in Racine. Jacob preceded her in death in January 1988. Kaye was employed as a secretary at Twin Disc Clutch in Racine for many years. Kaye was a member of Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Oostburg and the Rebekah Society. Kaye enjoyed gardening, traveling with her husband, Bible Study, various church activities, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Kaye is survived by her brother Francis "Fritz" (Grace) Claerbout of Connersville, IN; and nieces and nephews. Kaye was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers, Henry (Madeline), Oscar (Alice), Garret (Lilah), John (Norma), and Elmer (Mildred) Claerbout. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11 am at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with the Rev. John Tinsley officiating. Burial will take place in Oostburg Cemetery in the Town of Holland.
