Cathy Fredericks, 85, of Sheboygan Falls passed away to her heavenly home at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice on Saturday, October 7, 2017.Cathy was born Catherine Philomena Navin in Cork City, Ireland on June 8, 1932 to the late Cornelius Navin and the late Frances (Hurley) Navin.Cathy grew up in County Cork Ireland and attended St. Mary's Christian School of Faith. In August of 1954 she boarded the ship the SS America bound to New York, NY. It was on that ship that she met Captain Fred F. Fredericks, USAF. They were united in marriage on December 1, 1956.Cathy enjoyed the military life and traveling and living in the United States. In her career she had worked for the New York Telephone Company, NY, Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque, NM and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.Cathy was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Family meant the world to her and there is nothing she wouldn't do for them. Cathy's fiesty spirit and determination will always be a source of joy to her family.During Fred's duties with the Air Force he had the opportunity to meet with President Harry S. Truman on St. Patrick's day. Cathy gave Fred shamrocks to take for his visit. During their talk there was an audience present. President Truman asked "What makes a good government?" the audience remained silent. He said, "Good Politics". Fred gave President Truman some of Cathy's shamrocks and he said, "these mean a lot to me".Cathy is survived by her sons, Jim (Alys) Fredericks of New Berlin and Kevin (Pauline) Fredericks of Sheboygan Falls; daughter, Mary Fredericks of Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren, Nicole, Joseph, Kelli and Taylor; special friends Diana Doest and family.Cathy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred.Private family services are being held.In lieu of flowers it was Cathy's wish that donations be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Sharon S.
