Caryl Spettel

Caryl H. Spettel, 76, of 540 Giddings Avenue, Sheboygan Falls died on Friday night, January 15, 2010 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center. Caryl was born on February 4, 1933 in Howards Grove, the daughter of the late Arno and Anita (Siebert) Schroeder. Caryl graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1951. On May 10, 1952, she married LeRoy A. Spettel in Sheboygan. Caryl worked at Tecumseh Die Cast in Sheboygan Falls for 23 years before her retirement in 1993. Caryl was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Sheboygan and was a member of a dance club for more than 25 years. She enjoyed dancing, music, reading, needlepoint, playing cards and bingo, cooking, and going to Oneida. Her family will miss her kindness and sense of humor. Caryl is survived by her husband, LeRoy; one daughter, Diane (Martin) Patterson of Oxford, MS; three sons, Larry (Sarah) Spettel of Seymour, Jack (Debbie) Spettel and Rick (Elizabeth) Spettel, both of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Nicholas (Amy) Spettel, Stephanie (Mike) Roberts, Jacqueline and Peter Spettel, Ryan (Trisha) and Russell Spettel; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Delores (Ray) Rammer of Sheboygan, MaeJean (Kenneth) Messner and Arnita (Eugene) Drossel, both of Sheboygan Falls; and one brother-in-law, Les Benzschawel of Beechwood. Caryl was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Virginia Benzschawel. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 11 am with the Rev. Greg Whelton officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday from 4-8 pm and on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the service.
