Carter J. Maki, 7, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, as a result of a fire at their family home. Carter was born on December 3, 2008, in Sheboygan, son of Christopher and Kristi (Schmidt) Maki. He was a first grader at Sheboygan Falls Elementary School. Carter was part of the family at Crossroads Community Church in Sheboygan. He enjoyed board and card games, playing outside, computer games, and reading. Carter will be remembered for his love of people. Carter is survived by his parents, Kristi and Christopher Maki of Sheboygan Falls; his sister, Jenna Martin; grandparents, Marcie and David Laurin of Sheboygan Falls, Renee Thompson of Sheboygan, and Mike Schmidt of Sheboygan; great-grandparents, Robin Krause of Sheboygan, Betty Thompson of Cleveland, OH, Gary and Marsha Thompson of Georgia; and many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins. Carter was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Martin and his sister, Natalie Martin. A service to celebrate Carter's life will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday, February 1, 2016, at Southside Alliance Church with Pastor Jeff Jaeger officiating. Friends may gather at the church from 1:30 pm until the time of the service at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Carter's name for Living Hope International.
