Carolyn Huibregtse

Carolyn Huibregtse, 80, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at her home. Carolyn was born on April 3, 1930, on the Amos and Lydas Carpenter homestead in the Town of Lima to John and Helen (Ninnemann) Carpenter. She attended Plymouth, Sheboygan Southside Elementary and Central High Schools. Carolyn and Roland J. Huibregtse were married in 1947 in Michigan and had celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on Veterans Day, November 11th. In her younger days, Carolyn worked at the Altenbach 5 and 10 cent store in Sheboygan, and later was a housewife, sold Avon and was an in home childcare provider. Carolyn cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls and was part of the Prayer Chain, Bible Class Studies and also a member of TOPS. She was an enthusiastic Brewers and Packers fan and celebrated each score with an unbecoming holler. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, sending personalized cards for all occasions, rides in the kettles and their trips up-north. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Rollie; four daughters and three sons, Thomas J. of Lawton, OK, Dick M. (Gail) of Sheboygan Falls, Sue H. (Roger) Boy of Sheboygan Falls, Joyce A. (Myron) Praeger of Port Washington, Jane C. of Winchester, WI, Kay M. (Mike) Braun of Sheboygan Falls and Peter R. of Sheboygan Falls; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Shelly (Dave), Gina (Clint), Mark (special friend Gretchen), Michael (special friend Jenifer), Kristi (Caleb), Jill, Jason (Amanda), Joel (special friend Ashley), Rachel (special friend Nick), Brendan, Blake, Nicole (special friend Robert) and Carly; Eight great-grandchildren, Jaymz, Jedidiah, Zachariah, Charlie, Brody, Macy, Madylin, Damon, and special friend Kyra; three sisters, JoAnn Bartzen, Marjorie (Wayne) Siefert and Faye Entringer, all of Sheboygan. She is further survived by Marcella Vreeke, Marjorie Wangemann, Dale (Dolly) Huibregtse, Jerry (Kay) Huibregtse, Mary Huibregtse (Wisniewski) and Mary Jane Huibregtse. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her parent-in-laws John and Helen Huibregtse and five brothers-in-law, Roger Vreeke, Guy Entringer, Clem Bartzen, Ted Wangemann and Clarence (Peanuts) Huibregtse. The family would like to thank Dr. Schlidt and staff, the wonderful and caring staff at Pine Haven Christian Home, Amy and Clayton at Coulis Rehab, St. Nicholas Rehab, Dr. Brauer, Tim, the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Kathy Schuette, Dr. Bret Egelseer, son Dickie and granddaughter Jennifer. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 3:00 pm at First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Brad Veenendaal officiating. Interment will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 1:00 until the time of the service at 3:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Carolyn's name for the Lupus Society of Wisconsin, the American Heart Association and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
