Carol Sloan

Carol Janice Sloan, 87, of Sheboygan, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Sheboygan Health Services.

Carol was born on August 25, 1935, to Earl and Dortha (Bull) Sloan in Ohio. She was a graduate of Galion High School and went on to graduate from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio. After school, Carol worked her way up and became a charge nurse at the VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC for 10 years. She worked as a director of nursing at Baker Hospital in North Charleston, charge nurse at Southern Pines Psychiatric Hospital, and director and registered nurse at Providence House Inc. Carol also was employed at the Institute of Psychiatry in Charleston as a staff nurse, at Mobile Crisis – Emergency Psychiatric Services as a psychiatric clinician, and Charleston Memorial Hospital in Charleston as a charge nurse. Carol was a highly skilled registered nurse with over 40 years’ experience in psychiatry and substance abuse. She was always dedicated to providing quality patient care and exhibited the highest personal and professional ethics.

Carol is survived by her children, Kevin Selavko, John Mansperger, Laura Simonelli, Lisa Milne and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Selavko and granddaughter, Hanna Simonelli.

Private family services will be held.
