Carol M. Schuessler, age 81, of Oostburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Sheboygan Senior Community after a short illness.
Carol was born on March 12, 1940, to Jacob “Lester” and Florence (Endres) Stuessy in Madison, WI. She was raised in Milwaukee, graduating from Divine Savior High School. She worked for a time at Chevrolet Motor Division prior to marrying the love of her life, Andrew Schuessler and moving to Sheboygan Falls where she successfully transitioned to farm wife and mother. She was the Town of Wilson Treasurer for 16 years and volunteered in countless roles at her churches, St. George and Blessed Trinity, Oostburg School District and St. Nicholas Hospital. Her proudest achievements were nearly 60 years of a joy-filled marriage, raising 7 children, nurturing 16 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Carol’s favorite activity was visiting with family and friends. Over the years she enjoyed bowling, reading, theatre, crafts, playing cards and games. She will be remembered by her loving nature, quick sense of humor, helpfulness and positive spirit.
Carol is survived by her husband, Andrew; children, Jeff (Jill); Mark (Becky); Diane (Tim) Bliese; Linda (Joe) Cardinale; David (Steve); Brian (Heidi); and Scott (Lori), 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Janet (Jerry) Neterval and brother-in-law Harold (Arlene) Schuessler, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Therese and other family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Trinity Parish, 319 Giddings Avenue, Sheboygan Falls on Monday, March 14, at 11am. A livestream of Carol’s service can be found by visiting her obituary page on www.wenigfh.com. She will be laid to rest at St. George Catholic Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Sunday, March 13, from 3:00-6:00pm and again at church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carol’s name to Blessed Trinity Parish.
