Carol J. Kaat, 84, of Sheboygan, met her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center in Plymouth, WI.
Carol was born on October 16, 1939, to Chris and Laura (Lievense) Van Dixhorn in Sheboygan. She is a 1958 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On November 17, 1962, she married the love of her life, Leon Kaat, at First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls. They were happily married for just over 60 years and after a year apart, are with each other for eternity.
Carol worked for the Aurora Clinic in Sheboygan for 33 years as a Medical Technologist/Phlebotomist for the laboratory. She was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls and volunteered a lot of her time to various ministries. She was a part of Womens Bible study group, the floral decorator, a Sunday school teacher, and coffee and snack server for over 25 years. Carol was an Avon rep for more than 30 years. Being around family and friends was what brought Carol the most joy in life – right next to her faith in the Lord. Carol left a meaningful and memorable impact on each person she met.
Carol is survived by both of her children, Amy (Kenneth) Van Wyk of Waldo and Tim (Shari) Kaat of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren, Ben (Mallory) Van Wyk, Samuel (fiancé Courtney Gmach) Van Wyk, Mary Van Wyk, Taylor Kaat, and Amanda (Dean) Wingert; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Tanner Van Wyk; sister-in-law, Audrey Van Dixhorn; nieces, Lynn (David) Cook, Nancy Van Dixhorn, Jodi Van Dixhorn, Kim (Jeff) Nack; nephew, Thomas (Lora) Van Dixhorn. She is further survived by many other relatives and dear friends.
