Carol J. Guenther, 83, a longtime resident of Sheboygan Falls, and more recently of the Sheboygan Senior Community died on Monday afternoon, November 19, 2007 at St. Nicholas Hospital with her family at her side. Carol was born on January 8, 1924 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Karl and Delia (Lindner) Stahl. Carol graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1942 and then attended Michael Reese School of Nursing in Chicago. On June 24, 1944 she married the late Gilbert G. Guenther in Conway, NC. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1990. Carol was a member of St. Peter Episcopal Church in Sheboygan Falls, the St. Nicholas Hospital Auxiliary, and Sheboygan Falls Girl Scout Council. She enjoyed reading and word puzzles. Carol was a nautical collector and had a special love for the ocean and water. She is survived by one daughter, Gay (Allan) Wynveen of Oostburg; two sons, Richard (Sunday) Guenther of Appleton, and Timothy Guenther of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Jessica (Christopher) Fashun, Jocelyn (Ryan) Wiebe, Ric Guenther, and Matt Guenther; three great grandchildren, Ben and Thomas Wiebe, and Cameron Guenther. Carol was preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter, Jymme Wynveen; and a sister, Rachel Parsche. Funeral services will be held at 10:45 am on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at St. Peter Episcopal Church in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Samuel Nsengiyumva officiating.
