Carol M. Ehren, 81, of Kohler, was peacefully born to eternal life, Friday, April 13, 2012, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center with her family at her side. Carol was born January 1, 1931 in Kohler, WI to Paul and Olga (Dickert) Lindemann. She graduated from Kohler High School in 1949. After graduation, she worked for Citizen State Bank as a bookkeeper, Kohler Company as a stenographer, JCPenny as a clerk and bookkeeper, and Sheboygan Area Credit Union as a receptionist and secretary. On June 2, 1951 Carol married John "Jack" Ehren at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler. John passed away, July 2, 2003. Carol took great pride in her loving family and truly enjoyed everyone coming home for family gatherings. She was always there to capture special moments as the family's amateur photographer. Carol enjoyed Florida vacations with her husband and friends, special get-togethers in Door County, and traveling/cruises with family. She liked cooking and baking for her family, especially cookies at Christmas time with her grandchildren. Carol was an incredibly generous person and was always willing to help others. Carol was a member of, and actively involved with St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler; she was a Eucharistic server, a member of the Catholic Charity Club, and President and Vice President of St. Ann's Altar Society. She was also an active member of the following committees: Social, Winterfest, Funeral, and Rocky Knoll Bingo. Carol also bowled in the Kohler Company and Elks Club bowling leagues. She enjoyed playing mahjong and canasta as well as going out to lunch with her friends. She also served on various committees associated with her Riverdale golf league. Carol is survived by: one daughter, Deborah Ehren of Sheboygan Falls; four sons, Stephen (Sherryl) Ehren of North Liberty, IA, Michael Ehren of Windermere, FL, John (Melissa) Ehren of Lake Oswego, OR, Patrick (Susan) Ehren of Hawthorn Woods, IL; eight grandchildren, Kara Wilkens, Shana (Kevin) Hogue, Tyler Wilkens, Danae (Mark) Madison, Mindy and Ross Ehren, Justin and Austin Ehren; two great-granddaughters, Ella and Mya Hogue; other relatives and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her: parents; husband John "Jack"; one sister, Dorothy (Norbert) Schwartz; two brothers, one infant and Harold (Kathleen) Lindemann. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Carol's life will be at 11:00 am on Monday, April 16, 2012, at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 9:00 am until the time of Mass, Monday at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Carol's name for St. John Evangelist Catholic Church.
