Carmen Hendrickson

Carmen L. (Kaat) Hendrickson, 34, of Oostburg died unexpectedly at her home following a long illness. Carmen was born on June 15, 1981 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Phillip and Norrine (Bouma) Kaat. Carmen graduated from Ebenezer Christian School in Sheboygan in 1999. On September 15, 2001 she married Richard Hendrickson in Belgium. She worked as a herdsman for Gary-Lee Farms in the Town of Wilson for about 15 years. Carmen attended Hope Strict Baptist Church in Sheboygan. She enjoyed working on the farm and had a special love for cats and horses. She is survived by her parents, Phil and Norrine Kaat, of Plymouth; two brothers, Ryan (Heather) Kaat of Sheboygan and Justin (Kaitlyn) Kaat of rural Sheboygan Falls, her grandmother, Paula Bouma of Bozeman, Montana; seven nieces and nephews, Olivia, Evan, Shane, and Logan Kaat, Daniella, Mandy, and Bronson Kaat; and a dear friend, Todd Ledeboer of the Town of Wilson. Carmen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pastor Henry Bouma, Peter and Delia Kaat. A funeral service will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 10:30 am with Pastor Gary TenBroeke officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson. Family and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday from 4-7 pm and on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am.
