Carmen M. (Shallow) Danks, 83, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016, at the Pine Haven Residential Home. Carmen was born on April 14, 1933, in the Town of Little River, in Oconto County, daughter of Oliver and Gladys (Brabant) Shallow. She was a 1950 graduate of Lena High School. Carmen was employed by Suring State Bank from 1950-1961. On September 16, 1961, she married Donald D. Danks at St. Charles Catholic Church in Lena, and moved to Sheboygan Falls. Donald passed away on July 3, 2014. Carmen was employed by the State Bank of Howards Grove from 1972-1973, and as a bookkeeper for the Evans Store in Sheboygan Falls from 1973 until her retirement in 1995. Carmen was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls and was active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She enjoyed gardening and reading. Carmen is survived by her three daughters, Anne (Jeff) Danks of Del Mar, CA, Julie Danks of Muskego, and Barbara (Lynn Weir) Danks of Homewood, IL; her three sons, Michael (Carmi Parker) Danks of Everett, WA, Thomas Danks of Vancouver, WA, and Jerome Danks of Milwaukee; seven grandchildren, Erin and Kiera Danks, Jacob Muehlius, Renata and Martha Danks, and Benjamin and Marcus Danks; five sisters, Phyllis Smith of Green Bay, Marie (Bill) Grady of Oconto Falls, Jean Henrichs of Lena, Shirley (Richard) Gilles of Lena, and Gail Shallow of Lena; five brothers, Oliver (Margaret) Shallow, Russell (Mary) Shallow, Kenneth (Mary Lynn) Shallow, Gerald Shallow, and Wayne (Bonnie) Shallow, all of Lena; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Shallow and Joyce Shallow, both of Lena and Irene Danks of Fresno, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Donald, four brothers, Vernon (Eloise) Shallow, Roger Shallow, Richard Shallow, and Chester Shallow, and two brothers-in-law, Joseph Smith and Dale Henrichs. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Carmen's life will be held at noon on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls. Relatives and friends may gather at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at noon. A memorial fund has been established in Carmen's name for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
