Carl Henry TeWinkel, 89, of Sheboygan, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Morningside Health Care Center.Carl was born on January 10, 1928, in the Town of Lima, to Clarence and Florence (Oonk) TeWinkel. He was a graduate of Waldo High School. Following high school, he served in the Army National Guard for three years. On October 28, 1948, Carl married Lois Otte in Sheboygan. Lois preceded Carl in death on February 9, 2011. Carl was employed at H.C. Prange for years as a Department Manager until his retirement in 1990. In his retirement years, he enjoyed maintaining the grounds at White Potato Lake. He was a faithful member of Christ Community Church in Sheboygan. There he served as an elder, deacon, and Cadet leader. Additionally, he served on various Christian school boards and committee's. He enjoyed fishing, boating, playing cards and bingo, yard work, and spending time in Florida and up north at White Potato Lake.Carl is survived by his son, David (Lynn) TeWinkel of Oostburg; two daughters, Nancy TeWinkel (Dennis Lauren) Lauren of Arbor Vitae, WI, Amy (Thomas) Van Ess of Gwinn, MI; sister, Marilyn (Norman) DeBlaey of Oostburg; brother, Kenneth (Judy) TeWinkel of Gibbsville; eight Grandchildren, Benjamin Thiel, Katherine Thiel, Sarah (Stephen) LaCrosse, Holly (John Lahey) VanEss, Nathan (Rachel) TeWinkel, Zachary (Heidi) TeWinkel, Jacob (Renee) TeWinkel, Hannah (Garrett) Klotzbuecher; and eight great-grandchildren, Emma Thiel, Julia Thiel, Braden TeWinkel, Tyler TeWinkel, Lucas TeWinkel, Micah TeWinkel, Aubrey LaCrosse and Blake LaCrosse. Carl is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois TeWinkel; and niece, Jean Marie TeWinkel. A funeral service to celebrate Carl's life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 12:00 pm at Christ Community Church in Sheboygan with Rev. Frank Marsh officiating. A burial will take place at Gibbsville Cemetery.Relatives and friends may greet the family at Christ Community Church in Sheboygan on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 10:30 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. A memorial fund is being established in his name for Sheboygan County Christian Schools and Oostburg Christian School. For online condolences and additional information please visit www.wenigfh.com.
