Brian Lemmenes, beloved son of A. Glenn and the late Priscilla Lemmenes, passed away peacefully on 1/19/2024 following a year long struggle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife, Laura (Leonhardt) Lemmenes, and their two cherished children; Valerie Lemmenes (JJ Juszczak) & Matthew (fiancé Rei Takeda). Brian’s love extended to his role as an adoring “Florida” grandpa to Carter and Charlie Juszczak.
Brian also leaves a loving legacy within his extended family. He was a dear son of A. Glenn and his wife, Lorraine, beloved brother to Brenda (Kent) Hook, Tom (Donna) Lemmenes, Dave (Gina) Lemmenes and Jim (Paige) Lemmenes, and brothers-in-law to Ron (Christine) Leonhardt, Rick (Janet) Leonhardt. Brian held a special place in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, and their children, who knew his as a source of wisdom, support, and laughter.
Brian Lemmenes had a strong faith in the Lord which allowed him to face this journey with strength and adoration, knowing he was in His hands.
Brian dedicated his life to the service of others, both on and off duty. For over 25 years he served as a firefighter, beginning in the Palos Heights FD, and following a career in the Orland Fire Protection District, demonstrating unmatched bravery and dedication in the face of danger. Additionally, Brian selflessly served as an auxiliary officer for several municipalities in the south suburbs, further showcasing his commitment to the safety and wellbeing of his community.
Following his retirement from the fire department, he furthered his education and became a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Prior to moving full time to Florida, Brian enjoyed the challenging environment working at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Upon moving, he enjoyed working at Naples Community Hospital. He leaves behind many grieving friends at both institutions.
His tireless devotion to helping those in need knew no bounds. Brian was a pillar of strength and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends. His legacy as a selfless servant of God and of the community will forever be etched in the hearts of those he touched. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
