Brian Hansen

Brian J. "Checkers" Hansen, 30, of Glendale, Arizona and formerly of Oostburg died unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, September 25, 2013 following an apparent heart attack. Brian was born in Sheboygan on July 31, 1983, the son of the late Joseph and Cynthia (Jaster) Hansen. He was a 2001 graduate of Oostburg High School and received a bachelor degree in elementary education from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL. Brian worked as a manager for Grayhawk Golf Course in Scottsdale for the five years. Currently Brian was working Emery Federal Credit Union in Scottsdale. Brian was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg and enjoyed golf and deer hunting. Brian is survived by his brother, Brad (Ashley) Hansen of Oostburg; two nephews, Ayden and Grayson Hansen. Brian is also survived by uncles, aunts, and cousins. A memorial service to celebrate Brian's life will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg at 11 am on Saturday, October 5, 2013 with the Rev. Brian Jacobson officiating. Burial will take place at Oostburg Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
