Bonnie Altwies

Bonnie J. Altwies, 60, of Kentucky Ave in Sheboygan died unexpectedly on Friday morning, August 24, 2012 at her home. Bonnie was born on February 2, 1952 in Kenton, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Leona (Newland) Hale. Bonnie attended Lafayette High School in Ohio. On February 6, 1980 she married John E. Altwies in Sheboygan. Bonnie will always be remembered for her generous and caring spirit in helping others and always putting others before herself. She enjoyed gardening and music. She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed attending their events. She especially enjoyed watching her grandson, Dakota play football with the Sheboygan South High School Redwings. Bonnie's family learned the meaning of unconditional love from her. Her husband, John realizes the abundant blessing she was to him, and that she made the last 32 years of his life purposeful and richly blessed. Bonnie will be deeply missed by her family. Bonnie is survived by her husband, John E. Altwies of Sheboygan; two daughters, Hahna (Trini) Martinez and Lonnie Altwies, both of Sheboygan; one son, John H. Altwies of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, Dakota Gamez, Hailey, Keyanna, and Kaeden Martinez, and Lelynn Cullen; two sisters, Barbara (Dick) Risner and Becky Tilton, both of Ohio; three sisters-in-law, Martha (Gary) Miller of Sheboygan, Linda (friend Oscar) White of Adell, and Janice (Dan) Gore of Wausau; and one brother-in-law, J. Peter Altwies of New Holstein. Bonnie is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leona Hale; her parents-in-law, James and Betty Altwies; and a niece, Sarah Gore. Her brother, John Hale Jr.,was killed in Viet Nam and was part of the 101st Airborne Division. A celebration of her life will be held at a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 5-8 pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls.
