Hazel H. Bloemers, 93, formerly of Hingham peacefully went home to her Lord on Saturday afternoon, January 27, 2007 at Pine Haven Christian Home where she had resided for the past four years. Hazel was born on October 22, 1913 in the Town of Lima, the daughter of the late G. John and Jennie (Van Ess) Rauwerdink. She attended Sheboygan County Vocational School and later at the age of 67, received her high school diploma, along with her sister, Alyce, from Oostburg High School, with the Class of 1980. She married the late Leland Bloemers on September 4, 1936 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Leland preceded her in death on May 10, 1999. Hazel was a lifetime member at Hingham Reformed Church where she was involved with the Girls League, Mission Circle, Choir, Sunday School teacher and Missionary Society. She was also a member of a local Homemakers Club and served as treasurer of the Hingham Athletic Assoc. She enjoyed Bible study, cooking, baking, gardening, reading, and sewing. She made a personal scrapbook for each of her grandchildren. Hazel lived her convictions and was devout in her faith. Hazel is survived by one daughter, Annette (Glen) TenDolle of Cedar Grove; three grandchildren, Mitchel (Lori), Joel (Lana) Ten Dolle and Rachel (Brian) Luebke; six great grandchildren, Emily, Christopher and Lauren Ten Dolle, Justin Ten Dolle, and Jacob and Elizabeth Luebke; one sister, Alyce DePagter of Oostburg; and one sister-in-law, Janet Bloemers of Pine Haven Christian Home. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Harriet Bloemers; a great granddaughter, Lindsey TenDolle; one brother, Harvard (Dorothy) Rauwerdink; and one brother-in-law, Roland DePagter. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the Hingham Reformed Church with the Rev. Steven J. Bakker officiating. A family service will precede in the choir room at 10:15 am. Burial will take place at Hingham Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday from 5-8 pm; and on Wednesday, at church, from 9:30 until the time of service.
