Beverly Mae Hoffmann, 72, of Oostburg, passed away on Tuesday night, April 14, 2015, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center. Bev was born on August 24, 1942, in Sheboygan, the daughter of Harry Sr. and Mabel (Lohuis) Brill. Bev graduated from Oostburg High School in 1960 and worked for the VNA for several years. She married Wendell W. Hoffmann on July 6, 1963 in Oostburg. Bev, along with her husband, owned and operated a dairy operation in the Town of Lima for many years prior to their retirement. Bev was a member of First Reformed Church in Oostburg where she participated in the Women's Guild and served on the funeral committee. She and her husband belonged to the Sheboygan County Farm Bureau and were named as Outstanding Young Farmers of Sheboygan County. Bev was also a member of the Gibbsville Homemaker Club for many years. She enjoyed making greeting cards, bowling, golf, card playing, snowmobiling and spending winters in Arizona and time up north at their family home on Paya Lake near Lakewood. Bev was a devoted homemaker and was an active part of their dairy operation, daily working alongside her husband. They cherished their family time and had a host of dear friends. Bev is survived by her husband of 51 years, Wendell; two daughters, Wendy (Ron) Den Boer of Oostburg and Tammy (Doug) Brusse of Oostburg; two sons, Boyd (Laura) Hoffmann and Brett (Laura) Hoffmann, both of Oostburg; eleven grandchildren, Tanya (David) Clark, Kari (Jesse) Korthals, Bradley DenBoer, Taygan, Blayne and Branda Brusse, Brandon (Wendy), Tyler , and Justin Hoffmann, Kailey and Brooklyn Hoffmann; two great grandchildren, Emma Clark and Nahlia Korthals; two brothers, Jerry (Marge) Brill and Harry Jr. (Sandy) Brill, both of Oostburg; one sister-in-law, LaRae (John) Vander Plas of Green Lake; two brothers-in-law, Jack (Mary) Hoffmann and Darrell (Judy) Hoffmann, both of Oostburg. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jonathan (Delores) Brill; and her parents-in-law, Elmer and Ruth Hoffmann; one niece, Vicki Brill; and one nephew, Tim Hoffmann. Funeral services to celebrate Bev's life will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, April 20, 2015, at First Reformed Church in Oostburg with Rev. Brian Taylor officiating. Burial will take place at Hingham Cemetery in the Town of Lima. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Sunday from 2-7 pm, and on Monday, at church from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am. A memorial fund has been established in Bev's name for the First Reformed Church and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center.
