Beverly J. "Jim" Dykstra, 81, of Hingham, passed away on Wednesday morning, October 17, 2012 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Beverly was born on October 7, 1931 in Plymouth, daughter of Stuart and Bernice (Wierman) Wells. She was a 1949 graduate of Waldo High School. On June 18, 1949, she married Ralph Dykstra in Hingham. Beverly was employed at Gilson Brothers in Plymouth for 20 years until her retirement in 1985. She also worked at the Dutch Crust Bakery in Sheboygan Falls from 1986-94. Beverly was a member of Hingham Reformed Church. She was a member of the Hingham Couples Bowling League, Hingham Athletic Association, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Beverly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, baking, canning, card playing, and furniture refinishing. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Ralph "Rudy"; two daughters, Ann Dykstra of Oostburg and Kathy (Steve) Oppeneer of Hingham; two sons, David (Joan) Dykstra of Oostburg and Dale (Wava) Dykstra of Mishicot; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Lisa), Joel (Sheila), and Michael (Michelle) Oppeneer, Michelle (Damon) Huibregtse, Kurt (Leah) Dykstra, Nikki (Jason) Mills, Kyle (Phyllis), Adam (Patti), and Tim (fiancé Ashley) Dykstra; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Carrie (Jim) Gerlat of Sheboygan Falls; and one brother, Greg (Barb) Warner of Georgia. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, a great grandson, Aaron Dykstra, and one sister, Doris (Arlin) Scholten. Funeral services to celebrate Beverly's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Hingham Reformed Church with Rev. Steven J. Bakker officiating. Burial will take place at the Hingham Cemetery in the Town of Lima. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday from 4-8 pm, and on Saturday, at church, from 10 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established in Beverly's name for Hingham Reformed Church.
