Bette Adams

June 16, 1923 — July 8, 2017

Bette J. Adams, 94, of Sheboygan Falls and formerly of Oostburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.Bette was born on June 16, 1923 in Union City, NJ to John and Catherine (Ganley) Grebe. She was a 1941 graduate of Kearny High School in NJ. On August 4, 1945 she married Vincent Adams Sr. in Kearny, NJ. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1988.  Bette was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.Bette was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg, where she led and attended ladies Bible studies and was on the Missions Committee. Bette was a foster parent to over 45 babies with Bethany Christian Services. Bette enjoyed studying the Bible, playing games with her grandchildren and friends, and loved her family and all the time they spent together.Bette is survived by three sons, Bill (Nancy) Adams of Grandville, MI, Bob (Kathy) Adams of Sioux Falls, SD and Vince (Angela) Adams of Nashville, TN; one daughter-in-law, Pam Adams of Sioux Center, IA;  14 grandchildren, Chuck (Kimberly), David, Mike (Kim), Bill (Jacki), Jeanne (Craig), Kristy (Michael), Jennifer (Isaac), Katie, Jon (Amanda), Sarah, Liz (Brian), Michelle, Rachel (Matthew) and Vinnie (Kate); 37 great-grandchildren; and one brother, John "Jack" (Lois) Grebe of MA. Bette is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Bette was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; her parents and her oldest son, Charles.A funeral service to celebrate Bette's life will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017, at 7pm at the First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may gather for a time of visitation on Monday at the church from 3pm until the time of service at 7pm. A memorial fund is being established in Bette's name for Oostburg Christian School and Tesoros de Dios, a program for children with disabilities in Nicaragua, founded by her granddaughter, Michelle.For additional information and online condolences please visit www.wenigfh.com The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home of Oostburg (920-564-2771) is assisting Bette's family with arrangements.
