Bernice Katherine Rhines, 91, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Pine Haven Christian Communities – Haven Drive.
Bernice was born on December 13, 1933, to William and Selina (Mohr) Krepsky in Sheboygan. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1952.
On February 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to Warren “Rocky” Rhines in Sheboygan. They were married for 59 years before Warren’s passing on May 30, 2013.
Bernice was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Bernice loved spending time at the cottage in Florence and day trips with family while up north. She enjoyed pontoon rides on the lake, fishing, and the many winters spent in Arizona. Bernice bowled in her younger years and enjoyed puzzles, word search, and bingo in recent years. She was a talented sewer, making over 500 blankets for Project Linus and enjoyed embroidering and quilting.
Bernice is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Joel) Tauschek, Karen (Scott) Willadsen, and Cheryl (Scott) Allen, all of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren, Amy (David) Engeldinger, Joshua Tauschek, Kate (Bryan) Anich, Sara Willadsen, and Andy (Rayann Kaurala) Willadsen; eight great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; parents; sisters, Irene (Earl) Schultz, Dorothy (George) Schultz, Vernetta (Ray) Kohlmann, and June (Bob) Fisher; and brother-in-law, Clarence (Jeannie) Rhines; one niece, and two nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 1:00pm.
Relatives and friends may greet the family from 11:00am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Bernice’s name to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or Pine Haven Christian Communities.
Bernice’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to her daughter Karen, niece Diana, the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Hospice, especially Michelle and Ann, and to Crystal and staff at Prairie Crossing Campus, for their care of Bernice over the past years.
