Bernard Melvin Daane Bernard M. Daane, 88, formerly of Sheboygan Falls, died Friday, January 12, 2007 at Willowdale Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein. He was born July 6, 1918 in Sheboygan Falls, a son of the late James and Anna (Lievense) Daane Jr. Bernard graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School and served in the US Army Military Police from 1941-1945. On January 9, 1943 he married Jacqueline Jackson in Tacoma, Washington. She preceded him in death on July 18, 1962. Bernard married Virginia Mersberger in Sheboygan Falls on June 16, 1975. He worked at Kohler Company as an enameller. Bernard was a member of First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls. Survivors include his wife, Virginia of New Holstein; a daughter, Debra (Tom) Harvey of Rolling Meadows, Ill.; one son, Tom (Lori) Daane of Puyallup, Wash.; two step children, Barb (Hilmar) Voelker of Elkhart Lake, an Pat (Vic) Calvesio of Rockton, Ill; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Weavers of Gibbsville and Gertrude (Bill) Stoffregen of Sheboygan Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Jacqueline, a son, Douglas and a brother, Howard. A private memorial service will be held.
