Beatrice Wilterdink

Beatrice B. Wilterdink, formerly of Hingham, met her Lord and Savior on Wednesday afternoon, February 15, 2023, at Pine Haven Christian Home where she resided for the past eight years. She was 96 years old.

Beatrice was born August 20, 1926, in the Town of Holland, daughter of Jacob and Esther (TerMaat) Caljouw. She grew up in Oostburg, graduating from Oostburg High School in 1944.

On August 16, 1946, she was united in marriage with Gordon A. Wilterdink in Cedar Grove.

Beatrice was a longtime member of Hingham Reformed Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, taught Bible Class, and volunteered with Prison Fellowship for 27 years. She was also a member of Hingham Athletic Association, and enjoyed embroidery, gardening, reading, flowers, decorating, playing cards, cooking and baking.

Beatrice is survived by her children: Carol (Dick) Van Ess of Oostburg and Robert (Kay) Wilterdink of Hingham; grandchildren: Joel (Sandy) Van Ess, Kim (Chris) Hendrikse, Todd (Heather) Van Ess, Alan (Amy) Wilterdink, Deborah (Kevin) Oonk and Jeremy (Jan) Wilterdink; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters: Carolyn Ver Straate and Judith (Russell) Lilyquest, both of Sheboygan; brother, Ellsworth Caljouw of Oostburg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marilyn (Gene) Charles, infant brother, Marvin Caljouw, and many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law.

Funeral Services will be held at Wenig Funeral Home, 108 Center Ave. in Oostburg at 12:00 pm on Monday, February 20, 2023. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 10 am until the time of service at 12pm. Burial will take place at Hingham Cemetery.
