Beatrice A. Geidel, 97, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 6, 2016 at Avamere Health Care in Bellingham, WA. Beatrice was born at home on October 25, 1918 in the Town of Lima, the daughter of Abram and Johannah ('Annie' Liezen) Damkot. She attended the Hillcrest School in the Town of Lima and Oostburg High School. In 1941 she married Ralph O. Pannier with whom she had two sons. She married Richard Geidel on April 10, 1965, and gained three wonderful step-children. Beatrice worked for several years as a nurse's aide at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital and for 30 years at R.A. Manning until her retirement in 1983. During much of her retirement she was a volunteer at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. Beatrice was a lifetime member of the Gibbsville Reformed Church. She was an avid reader, relished time with her friends, enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and wintering in Texas for many years. She was known to be kind, gracious and fun loving. She was forever generous in all ways with her family. All of Beatrice's strengths and hopes resided in the Word of Christ. Beatrice is survived by a son, James (Antoinette 'Kaye') Pannier of Ferndale, WA; two step daughters, Marilyn (Peter) Gorecki of Sheboygan,and Nancy Geidel of Delavan; one stepson, James (Julie) Geidel of Boulder, CO; a sister-in-law Agnes Damkot of Iowa, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; her first and second husbands; one son, Gary (Linda) Pannier; one sister, Ruth (Hugo) Hameister; four brothers, Paul, Harold (Evelyn), Warren (Jeanette) and Harvey (Hattie) Damkot; and her granddaughter Veronica Pannier. Family and friends may gather in honor of this wonderful woman at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Saturday January 16, 2016 from noon until the time of service at 1:00 PM. The memorial service to celebrate Beatrice's life will be officiated by the Rev. John Ornee of Gibbsville Reformed Church. Lunch will immediately follow the service. All are most welcome.
