Barbara Rank

Barbara A. Rank (nee Biesel), formerly of Ephraim, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Cedar Grove Gardens. She was 78 years old.

Barbara was born November 13, 1943, to Harvey and Gertrude (nee Tiedemann) Biesel in Milwaukee, WI. She grew up with 4 siblings and attended Custer High School. While in high school, she met her future husband of 50+ years, Donald Rank. They settled down in Ozaukee County to raise a family of 4 amazing children. Together they enjoyed traveling to Mackinac Island, shopping in Door County, and walking down the street to the local candy shop.

Throughout life, Barbara worked at Gimbel’s Department Store, Cedarburg Woolen Mills and Dairy Queen (the awesome one that looked over the lake in Port Washington!). The most impact she made was being a full-time mother, homemaker and wife for her family. She also volunteered time at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and School while her kids attended school and was a volunteer counselor at Help of Door County.

Barb loved cooking, growing her favorite flowers – impatiens, spending time at the beloved family shack, good bakery with a cup of coffee and a delicious ring bologna, baked beans and potato salad. She spent many hours enjoying a good meal and conversation with family!

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Donald O. Rank, parents-in-law, brother, and other family members.

Barbara is survived by her children: Laura (Dean) Jacoby, Kelly (Ty) Dudenhoefer, John (Natasha) Rank and Steven (Andrea) Rank. She is further survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren with another on the way, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Wenig Funeral Home, 108 Center Ave. in Oostburg. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00AM-1:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to a charity of your choice.
