Barbara A. Lohr

Barbara A. Lohr, 80, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born July 7, 1943 in Sheboygan to Arthur and Wilma (Kerwin) Peterson. She graduated from Sheboygan South High School, and went on to study at Milwaukee Beauty School. She worked as a hairdresser for many years where she shared smiles and conversations with countless clients. Over the course of 25 years, she proudly owned three salons throughout the county. She also worked at American Orthodontics and the Sheboygan Clinic. 

On March 26, 2000 she was united in marriage with Donald J. Lohr. He preceded her in death in 2022.

Barb was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. She was an active member and employee of the YMCA, and enjoyed vacationing up north in Florence, WI, and spending precious time with her grandchildren and two grandpuppies, Reese and Oakley. Exceptional in the kitchen, Barb was always sharing food with those she loved. She was an adoring wife, mother and grandmother that leaves behind a legacy of love.

Barb is survived by her children: Amy Simonich (Todd Petrauski) and Steve Simonich (Tammy Kulow); grandchildren Brek Simonich, Haven (Bailey) Fetterer and Jada Simonich; brother Robert (Sandra) Peterson; former spouse Wally (Jackie) Simonich; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is further survived by Don’s family; children: Linda Wilson, Susan (Scott) Senkbiel and Robert Lohr; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and brother Frank (Marlyss) Lohr.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, sister Patricia (Thomas) Wesendorf, sisters-in-law Sue Wesendorf and Lillian (John) Conto and son-in-law William Wilson.

A Memorial Service celebrating Barb’s life will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. All are welcome to view a livestream of the service here.  The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 12:00PM-2:00PM. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in her name.

Barb’s family would like to thank Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, her nephew Chris Wesendorf and the Sheboygan Falls Fire Department and First Responders, Dr. Bettag and his staff, Dr. Stan Gutiontov and the staff of Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, Aurora Grafton Cardiac Unit and ICU, Pastor Kyle Backhaus, and all the supportive family and friends for their compassionate care and love.
