Barbara Bloemers

Barbara Ann Bloemers, 69, of 329 S. 5th Street, Cedar Grove, died peacefully at her home on Monday morning, August 24, 2009. Barbara was born June 24, 1940 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Oliver and Edith (Wynveen) Davies. She was a 1958 graduate of Cedar Grove High School. On April 9, 1960, she married Wayne Bloemers in Cedar Grove. Barb was employed with the Sheboygan Clinic as a receptionist for 13 years until the time of her retirement in 2000. Barb was a charter member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove where she served on the Ladies Guild, as a Sunday school teacher, choir, and the Care Connection. Barb was also active in the Cedar Grove Area United Fund and the Cedar Grove Friends of the Library. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, traveling, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Wayne; two daughters, Kristine (John) Kettenhoven of Cedar Grove, Susan (Kenneth) Claerbout of Stafford, VA; one son, Jeffrey Bloemers of Hingham; six grandchildren, John "JJ" and Jaedyn Kettenhoven of Cedar Grove, Matthew (Amy) Claerbout of Northport, AL and Andrew Claerbout of San Francisco, CA, and Kaila and Jamie Bloemers of Hingham; and one sister, Mary (Rich) Rauwerdink of Random Lake. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant sister, Marilyn Davies. A celebration of Barb's life will take place at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with the Rev. Earl Slotman officiating. A family service will precede at 10:15 am in the choir room. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Wednesday from 4-8 pm, and on Thursday, at church, from 9:30 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established in her name for Faith Reformed Church Building Fund and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
