Avis Droppers

Avis C. Droppers, 89, of Cedar Grove, and a resident of Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls, died Christmas night, December 25, 2011 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Avis was born on April 18, 1922 in Abbotsford, the daughter of Gordon and Lila (Parge) Phaneuf. She graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1940. On May 10, 1941 she married Howard Daane in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1982. Avis married Herbert Droppers on June 18, 1983 in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2006. Avis was a member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove and the Ladies Bible Study there. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed cooking and baking. Avis is survived by a daughter, Jean (Dewey) Rammer of Sheboygan; two sons, Mark (Pat) Daane of Tarpon Springs, FL and Jan (Cheryl) Daane of Menomonee Falls; eight grandchildren, Bill (Stacey) Rammer, Katie Rammer, Tammy Richmond, Bob (Christine) Daane, Lisa Britt, Andrew Daane, Heather (Adam) Ward, and Heidi (Joshua) Lambro; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis (Lester) Reiter of Stetsonville; one sister-in-law, Delores Phaneuf of Marshfield. Avis is also survived by her step family; two step daughters, Donna (Mark) Oudersluys of Kalamazoo, MI, Diane (Charlie) Browne of Iowa; one step son, Dale (Delores) Droppers of Cedar Grove; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Avis was preceded in death by her first and second husband, and two brothers, Warren Phaneuf and Marlon (Pat) Phaneuf. A funeral to celebrate Avis's life will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 2 pm with the Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will take place at the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Friends and family may gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday from noon until the time of the service at 2 pm.
