Audley J. Nyenhuis, 83, of 125 South 1st Street, Oostburg, was born to eternal life at his home on Tuesday evening, October 2, 2007. Audley was born on June 7, 1924 in Oostburg, the son of the late Harry and Florence (Lemkuil) Nyenhuis. He graduated from Oostburg High School in 1942 and from Carroll College in Waukesha in 1950. While a student at Carroll he was inducted into Sigma Phi Epsilon. Audley served in the US Army during World War II from 1942-45. On February 10, 1951 he married the former Audrey Zarnke in Waukesha. Audley was an accountant for Hein Werner in Waukesha for 30 years and then at Allen Bradley/Rockwell International in Milwaukee for 10 years before his retirement in 1989. Audley was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and a past active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waukesha. He enjoyed music and singing, golf, bowling and most other sports. He is survived by his wife, Audrey; two daughters, Lorie (Roy) Hagedorn of Hubertus and Savannah Krause of Brookfield; six grandchildren, Jonna (Trevor) Kahrs, Joshua (Jamie) Hagedorn, Bethany (Joshua) Zima, Steven, Daniel and Samantha Krause; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Nelvie (Ben) Herr of Oostburg; one brother, Richard (LaVerne) Nyenhuis of Oostburg; and two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Nyenhuis of West Allis and Marilyn Hoffman of Snellville, Georgia. Audley was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Duane Nyenhuis; and one sister-in-law, Verla Nyenhuis. A Victory Service will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield at 11 am on Monday, October 8, 2007 with the Rev. Tim Kuske officiating. Entombment and Military Honors will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Sunday from 2-5 pm, and on Monday at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes from 10 am until the time of the service.
