Arthur Harold Dulmes

Arthur Harold Dulmes, 85, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Art was born on March 4, 1939, to R. Harold and Eunice (Arthur) Dulmes in Plymouth. He attended Green School and Oostburg High School, graduating in 1957. Following graduation, Art went on to Barber Technical College in Green Bay until 1959. He started barbering in 1960. In 1966, he bought and operated Art’s Barbershop in Sheboygan Falls for many years until he went to work at Curt Joa in 1987. Art worked there for 15 years before retiring and barbering part-time until he was 81. 

On November 29, 1958, Art was united in marriage to Sue Anne Du Mez at First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg.

Art served in the Army National Guard for four years, retiring as a Private 1st Class.

Art was a member of First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls, where he served as elder, deacon, youth leader, Sunday school superintendent and teacher. He was also a member of the Sheboygan Falls Chamber of Commerce, sang in the Pine Haven Chorus, and golfed in the Oostburg Men’s Golf League for many years. Art enjoyed golfing and reading. More than anything, he loved spending time with family and especially his new great-grandchildren.

Art is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sue; daughters, Jana (Greg) Middlesworth of Florida, Jodi Dulmes of Sheboygan Falls, Michelle (Kurt) Wenzelburger of Michigan; grandchildren, Erica (Scott) Warmus, Andrea (Paul) Wagner, Garrett (Hannah) Wenzelburger, Jana Wenzelburger; great-grandchildren, Paige and Conner Warmus, Olivia and Rosie Wagner, Luke, Ella, and Madeline Wenzelburger. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Jane (Duane) LeBreck, Vonnie DuMez, Mary Lou Du Mez, Jean DuMez; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; infant twin brother; brother, James (Phyllis) Dulmes; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Keith) Brill; brothers-in-law, Michael DuMez, Don DuMez, Duane DuMez; and special cousins, Edith (Jerome) Neerhof, Erna (Ronald) Bimmel, and Warren Arthur.

A memorial service will be held at First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:00am with Rev. Brad Veenendaal officiating.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at church from 9:00am until the time of service.

Memorials are appreciated in Art’s name to Sheboygan Christian School and Oostburg Christian School.
