Arlie Mae (Wieberdink) Roerdink, 88, went home to be with her Heavenly Father Thursday night, October 23, 2014 at the Cedar Grove Gardens II, where she was a resident for 7 years. She is jumping for joy with Jesus in Heaven! Arlie was born on November 15, 1925, the daughter of Harry and Freida (Jentink) Wieberdink. She graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1943. She worked at the Musebeck Shoe factory where she met and fell in love with Audley Roerdink. They were married on June 4, 1947. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2008. Arlie also worked at the Evanof Variety Store and Greenhouse for many years, and was a devoted homemaker. Arlie was a member of Calvary OPC where she served in the past as Sunday School and Bible Class teacher. She was also a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Arlie was a collector at heart and never missed a good auction which is why she opened her own shop, Arlie's Corner Antiques. She loved to read and always had a book by her side. She had a garden full of friends, and knew each by name. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren sharing the love of Jesus and creating wonderful memories. Arlie is survived by two daughters, Donna (James) Smies of Cedar Grove and Mary (Patrick) Gillette of Sheboygan; one son, Tom (Bonnie) Roerdink of Amberg, WI; six grandchildren, Richard (Lisa) Gillette, Mindy (TJ) Stopar, Becky (Jack) Dulmes, Sara (Jim) Gerend, Anna (Matt) Heinen, David Smies; 13 great grandchildren, Hugh, Gracie and Gavin Gillette, Carson, Faith and Athena Stopar, Katrina, Judah, and Silas Dulmes, Lillian Gerend, Caleb Abbi, and Levi Heinen; one brother, Les (Arline) Wieberdink of Cedar Grove; and one sister-in-law, Edith Beernink of Cedar Grove; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Audley; a daughter-in-law, Marcie Roerdink; two sisters, Muriel (Ivan) Beernink and Doris (LeRoy) Traas, three brothers, Ernie (Laverne), Gordon (Jean) Wieberdink and Robert (June) Wieberdink. A funeral to celebrate Arlie's life will take place on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 3pm at the Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove with Rev. Willie Gesch officiating. Burial will follow at the Presbyterian Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Family and friends will gather at the church on Monday from 1pm until the time of the service at 3pm. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Cedar Grove Gardens II for their excellent care and compassion during her stay, and to the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice staff who attended to Mom's needs. Alzheimers has robbed her of many precious memories, but she never forgot to thank her Heavenly Father for His saving grace. She still remembers Jesus and His amazing grace, He left a mark upon her heart that time cannot erase. She can tell you who He is and what He did and why He came. Yes, she still remembers Jesus' name.
