Arlene Winkelhorst

Arlene J. Winkelhorst, 91, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Arlene was born on June 12, 1923 in the town of Holland to Arthur and Jennie TenHaken. She was a 1941 graduate of Cedar Grove High School. On November 7, 1964 she married LeRoy Winkelhorst in Cedar Grove. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2006. Arlene worked at Musebeck Shoe Factory for 20 years. Arlene was a member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. She had a passion for gardening and loved all flowers and plants. She loved traveling with her husband, LeRoy. She enjoyed watching birds and needlepoint. Arlene is survived by her brother-in-law, Thomas Bloomingdale of Cedarburg; her nieces and nephew, Tara, Nathan and Kirsten Bloomingdale; great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece and nephew. She is further survived by many cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, LeRoy, her twin sisters and one brother-in-law, John Bloomingdale. A funeral service to celebrate Arlene's life will be on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11am at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends can gather at the church on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 9am until the time of service at 11am A memorial fund is being established in Arlene's memory for the First Reformed Church and Gideons International.
