Arlene Robinson

Arlene D. Robinson, 87, of Oostburg, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. Arlene was born on September 29, 1928, in Cedar Grove, daughter of George and Cynthia (TerMaat) Lukens. She was a 1936 graduate of Oostburg High School. On August 29, 1947, she married Oscar Robinson in Cedar Grove. Oscar passed away on September 6, 2001. Arlene was employed with Pine Haven Christian Home and then the Musebeck Shoe Company for 17 years. Arlene was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg where she was active in the Women's Circle. She enjoyed cooking, word search puzzles, spending time with her family, dining out, sewing, needlepoint, travel, and playing cards. Arlene is survived by her two sons, Don (Vicky) Robinson , Roger (Debbie) Robinson, both of Oostburg; two grandchildren, Chad (Christina) Robinson and Timothy Robinson; one great-grandaughter, Ellie Gonzalez; and two brothers-in-law, Ronald Hesselink of Oostburg and Richard "Chip" Lemkuil of Oostburg; nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, Oscar, and her three sisters, Marion (Lawrence) Bosman, Margaret Hesselink, and Lenore Lemkuil. Funeral services to celebrate Arlene's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg with Rev. Brian Jacobson officiating. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may gather at the church on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Arlene's name for First Presbyterian Church and the Oostburg Ambulance.
