Antonino Miosi

January 23, 1938 — August 25, 2016

Antonino Miosi, 78, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Antonino was born on January 23, 1938 in Bagheria, Sicily to Salvatore and Vincenza Miosi. On June 21, 1965 he married Francesca LaLicata. Antonino worked many years in construction with the Laborers Local 113. He was involved with the Abruezze Society and a proud member of the Milwaukee area Italian community. Antonino was an avid soccer fan and loved spending time with his family. Antonino is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Francesca; two sons, Salvatore (Laura) and Domenico (Renee) Miosi; six grandchildren, Anthony, Catherine, Michael, Antonino, Helena and Domenico; two brothers, Pietro (Anna) and Domenico (Caterina) Miosi; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe (Marlene) LaLicata, Peter LaLicata, Tom (Rosetta) LaLicata, Nina Sanfilippo, Santina (Tom) Riccobono, Giusi LaLicata and Mary Ann LaLicata. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. Antonino was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Domenico and Anna LaLicata; sister and brother-in-law, Maria (Michaelangelo) Albanese; brothers-in-law, Salvatore LaLicata, Tony LaLicata, Giacomo LaLicata, Frank Sanfilippo and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Angelina (Pietro) Balistreri. A funeral service to celebrate Antonino's life will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11am at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with Rev. Matthew Widder officiating. Entombment will be at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may gather on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the funeral home from 9:30am until the time of service at 11am. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of St. Luke Cancer Center in Milwaukee, the Sheboygan Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, especially Dr. Kumar and the Aurora at Home Hospice team especially Mary Ann for all of their care and compassion that they gave to Antonino.
